Lilian Nabora Art, Competitions Leave a Comment

We are very excited about the response from the Tanzanian community to our call for applications in the first version of our online competition: NaMimiNipo. We got in total of 70 applications and 52 submitted works from which a number of 28 works were preselected by our jury committee leaded by the art experts David Chikoho and Nassoro Abdul. The judges used four criteria with each weighing 25% (creativity, neatness, presentation, commitment). These pre-selected works are currently under voting process until the 8th of June through our facebook page.

Very much interesting ideas were submitted in the Science and Innovation category, including an automatically driven and motor driven car as well as a security system design. In the Science and Innovation category we had participation from the University of Dar es salaam, Dar es salaam Institute of Technology and Tumbi Secondary School. Moreover, stunning art works (paint, drawing and handicraft) were submitted responding to our requirement of representing the African culture. To appreciate and select your favorite works, visit our facebok page !

We are now looking forward to our Award ceremony at the Russian cultural center in Dar es Salaam the 10th of June !
